Genetic variability, heritability and genetic advance for growth, yield and yield related traits in maize genotypes

Evaluation of the genetic variability, heritability and advance traits is an essential task in any plant improvement program. Twenty maize genotypes were replicated twice a randomized complete block design on research plot Prithu Technical College, Deukhuri Dang Nepal from June 2017 to September determine heritability, for different agronomic traits. Analysis variance showed significant differences tassel length, ear height, days fifty percent tasseling, silking, kernels’ rows ear-1, kernels row-1 grain yield. The highest GCV (31.53%) PCV (39.20%) recorded Grain yield height high along with as mean (GAM). Tassel length integrated moderate GAM respectively. Further, positive correlation cob diameter, row-1.
